First half of July

First half of July as promised :)

5 Months

Its hard to believe he's almost half a year old! I hate how fast time is going. But I do love watching him learn new things. He is certainly looking more mature. He is rolling and scooting all over the place. And, just yesterday, he learned how to get in the crawl stance. I havent gotten a photo yet, but I did get it on video. Ill add it into the next compilation. I have a feeling now that he has learned that he will figure out how to crawl soon. It also looks as though his two front teeth are starting to come in. He doesnt act like hes in pain so im glad its not bothering him yet. But I can for sure see 2 little white spots in front.

I think with these video compilations, I'll try to start doing them mid month and at the end. That way you dont have to wait all month to see what went on at the beginning of the month! But dont count on it, its alot of work and little mister needs alot of attention :) Ill do my best!

I created a compilation of some of the video footage I got throughout the month of June. Yes, I realize this is not done very well, it was my first time. Im sure I'll get better ;) Enjoy!

First rice cereal attempt!

So as I said previously, the doc said we could try out some rice cereal for him. I figured Id wait a few weeks before I tryed it out. So last night, we gave it a shot! It was pretty funny because at first he had no idea what I was sticking in his mouth, but he eventually figured it out! As soon as I would hold the spoon up he would open his mouth. Im surprised at how fast he caught on. He needs to work on swallowing it better though. Most of it just ended up on him or on the towel in front of him. He was really funny trying to grab the spoon, it was almost like he wanted to feed him self :) All in all it was a good first attempt, and im glad we got some of it on video! I am sad that its that time for new things already, but it is exciting watching him learn these new things!

4 Mo well baby

So he finally had his 4 mo appt. He was 16 lbs 1 oz and 25 in. Just a growing away! We werent able to get his shots because immunizations was closed, so we'll try to get that done this coming week. The ped said that if we wanted to, we could start him on some rice cereal. Hes still getting up 1 or 2 times a night and she said that this might make him sleep better. So I think maybe this week I will go get some and see how he does!

We are all moved into the new house (though not even close to being fully unpacked)! Its crazy to think that this is the house where Lucas is going to learn to crawl, walk, talk, and all sorts of other things. So far we are liking the change. Its most certainly a great thing for Tim, not having to get up as early for work, and wasting so much money on gas! Steeze is loving the yard! I dont let him out there by himself though because of the birds and coyotes.

4 Months

4 months old today! Can someone make it stop!? As you will be able to tell from the picture, he really is looking much older. His 4 month appt isnt until next Wed, so I have no stats as of yet. I believe he will also be getting his second set of shots :( It breaks my heart, but if he reacts anything like last time, he will most likely just sleep most of the day. No new milestones to report. He is starting to giggle a little more. Steeze seems to be the thing he thinks is most funny!

Yesterday we got the keys to our new house! The movers are supposed to be coming on monday, but they have yet to call with a time frame, so were a little weary that something has gone wrong with that situation. Later today Lucas, Steeze and I are going over to the house to wait for our tv guy to come hook that stuff up. Its going to be pretty boring because they gave a 4 hour time frame that they could arrive. Ill take some pictures while we wait!

Sickypoo

Lucas has his first cold :( Its not too bad. Just a runny nose and a gross cough. I took him to the doctor on wednesday and she said to get a cool mist humidifer and use saline spray. She said it should be gone within a week and if it wasnt she would give him some antibiotics. Apparently babies usually have a bunch of colds within thier first year. Its just building thier immune system. It started on tuesday and he is already sounding much much better. So I have a feeling it will be completely gone soon! A plus of taking him to the doctor is that they weighed him! I love seeing how much he weighs. He weighed 15lbs 4 oz. What a chunk! Ive been using him as weights sometimes. No, not like doing bicept curls or anything..just lifting him straight up in the air. He LOVES it! I get a pretty good workout too ;) Dont know how much longer i'll be able to do that though!! I need to call and make his 4 mo appt, which should be sometime next week. Then, i'll get all his stats!!
